Nuclear
In large measure owing to investments in nuclear generation, MEAG Power’s diverse, clean energy portfolio has delivered, on average, 66% emissions-free energy since 2016 – which compares favorably with both the state and national averages. In addition to ownership in nuclear units Plant Hatch 1 & 2 and Plant Vogtle 1 & 2, MEAG Power owns 22.7% of Vogtle Units 3 & 4. Unit 3 began commercial operation in 2023, and Unit 4 came online in 2024. Together, both Units 3 & 4 will provide 500 MW of reliable, clean, safe and affordable baseload power to our Participant communities for the next 60 to 80 years.
Plant Hatch Units 1&2
Units 1&2 were operational as of 1975 and 1979, respectively. In 2002 the licenses were extended to 2034 and 2038, respectively.
